What services do you offer at Coisceim Podiatry Clinic?
At Coisceim Podiatry Clinic, we offer a comprehensive range of podiatry services, including:
- routine foot care,
- diabetic foot care,
- biomechanical assessments,
- management of various foot conditions such as:
- verrucas,
- corns,
- calluses.

What is the difference between a Chiropodist and a Podiatrist?
Chiropody includes routine foot care such as corns, callus and nail cutting. A Podiatrist is covered to carry out all aspects of Chiropody as well as specialist diabetic foot care, wound care, and some nail surgery.
Can a podiatrist help with sports injuries?
Yes, common treatments for sports injuries can include taping, stretching, dry needling, orthotics, footwear advice and onward referral if necessary.
Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?
No, you can make an appointment without a referral.

What do I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a list of current medications and any orthotics or insoles that you are using.
Do you charge a cancellation fee?
Where less than 24 hours notice of cancellation is given, a fee may apply.
Do you accept medical cards?
As this is a private service, it is unfortunately not covered by the medical card.
Does insurance cover treatment?
This depends on individual policies, it would be advisable to check your table of cover to see what level of cover you have for podiatry. You can also claim back part of your medical expenses through revenue if employed.
Do we treat children?
Yes, we treat patients of any age, common children’s issues can include verruca, heel pain, flat feet, ingrown nails and sports-related issues.
Are some of you staff students?
No, we don’t have any students in clinic. All of our podiatrists are fully qualified and CORU registered.
Are you wheelchair accessible?
Yes, our clinic is located on the ground floor, with plenty of space for wheelchair users and accessible parking directly outside the door.
Free parking?
Our clinic has ample free parking directly across from the clinic.
What is the difference between a medipedi and what you do?
All treatments are carried out by expert Podiatrists in a gentle, safe way. We use sterile instruments and sharps debridement techniques to remove any hard skin, corns, calluses or cracks in the heels. This ensures safe, effective and long-lasting results. Our podiatrists will also advise on how best to take care of your skin and nails in the long term.
What should I expect during my first visit?
During your first visit, our podiatrist will conduct a thorough assessment of your foot health, discuss any issues you are experiencing, and develop a personalised treatment plan. Please bring any relevant medical history and a list of current medications.
Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?
No, you do not need a referral to see a podiatrist at Coisceim Podiatry Clinic. You can book an appointment directly with us.

We treat a wide range of foot and lower limb conditions, including but not limited to:

- Heel pain and plantar fasciitis

What is diabetic foot care, and why is it important?
Diabetic foot care involves regular monitoring and treatment of foot conditions in diabetic patients to prevent complications such as ulcers, infections, and amputations. It is crucial because diabetes can impair blood circulation and nerve function, increasing the risk of serious foot problems.
Do you offer orthotics?
Yes, we offer custom orthotic devices designed to correct biomechanical issues, provide support, and alleviate pain. Our podiatrist will perform a detailed assessment to determine the best orthotic solution for your needs.
How can I take care of my feet at home?
Maintaining good foot hygiene, wearing appropriate footwear, keeping your feet moisturised, and performing regular foot checks are essential for foot health. Our podiatrist can provide personalised advice during your visit.
What should I do if I have a foot emergency?
If you have a foot emergency, such as a severe infection, injury, or sudden loss of sensation, seek immediate medical attention. For urgent but non-emergency issues, contact our clinic for advice and an expedited appointment.
