As podiatrist part of our core training is in the biomechanics of how we walk and how to identify problems with this complex activity in order to intervene for patients when necessary and eliminate pain. We are also experts at materials and prescription of orthoses, it being a core part of our training throughout our professional lives.

Louisa Flynn
Graduated in 1996 with a Degree in Podiatric Medicine from Queens University Belfast. From there went on to work in the NHS for several years, specialising in and running the biomechanical department in the NHS trust.
Since graduation interest in Biomechanics, taping and orthoses has merged with specialisation in Diabetic foot care. Louisa undertook an MPhil in NUI Galway, investigating vascular status of the limb in patients with Diabetes. She has worked with HSE West as a clinician since 2007 and the NUIG School of Podiatric Medicine providing lectures in specific specialist areas since 2016.
Orla Quinn
Orla Quinn graduated from University of Westminister with a degree in Podiatric Medicine, since then she has gone on to work both with the HSE and in private practice.
Orla has been the Podiatrist to the Galway Hospice since 2010 and also works both in UHG on the wards and in HSE West and as a clinical educator and trainer to the students on the NUIG School of Podiatric Medicine undergraduate degree course.
She ran a private Podiatry practice in Castlebar and then joined Coiscéim in 2008 and Louisa and Orla became partners and moved the business to its current location in 2018.
Orla specialises in Dermatology, Taping, Orthotics and care for the foot damaged from medical intervention.
Jasmine Reynolds
Jasmine graduated from NUIG School of Podiatry in 2018 and came to join Coiscéim in early 2019. Jasmine has a keen interest in Biomechanics and is eager to continue her education through work and ongoing training.
Her research investigated Diabetes and its relevance within the care of the foot. Jasmine is an excellent addition to our team in Barna and is constantly developing her scope of practice.
Louisa opened Coiscéim Foot Clinic in Barna, Galway in 2004, in 2018 Orla Quinn became her business partner and they opened the new business together in March 2018.
